At this early stage of our project we have decided to restrict performance measurements to those that will give some indication of the basic inter-processor communications performance. The actual computational performance of each process is felt to be dependent on the local JVM and associated technologies used by specific vendors to increase the performance of Java. A real application performance will be presented in Section 6.4.
