Mpiwiki:Community Portal

From Mpiwiki

We're attempting to set up an open-source version of mpiJava and a user mutual-support community around it. The first step is resolving licensing issues. The current target is to get an Apache license applied to the entire code base.

  • Bryan Carpenter is filling out the form to get this process started (3/27/07)

How do we want to manage changes that go into the repository

  • Should we move the repository to svn?
  • Is there a branch for the current shipping version?
  • Are we going to allow anybody to commit changes or should they be reviewed first?

What are the outstanding changes that should be considered?

  • Update the build system to recognize modern hardware and operating systems
  • Update the native code to work properly on 64 bit
  • One of the aggregate functions fails with the long data type. (I'll have to lookup the exact operation)

Currently, limited support is available at the mailing list: http://lists.scs.fsu.edu/pipermail/java-mpi/
